At O’Hare, one of my friends was late and we also had some ticketing issues but for the most part that went smoothly. We did get caught in heavy security lines but our the airline came through and bumped us to the front of the line … not to big, I thought it would be our little hiccup of the trip … boy was I wrong.

Getting in wasn’t to bad at all, after figuring out one of our friend’s luggage was lost (yes it does happen) we were battered with the usual “small portion” France cramming our luggage and and tired selves into the small cars of the French coordinator and her assistant. All in all everything was going well, until we got to the apartments. The building is brand spanking new … so new not all the rooms were finished. By this time we all just wanted to shower and sleep … well we couldn’t do that. We couldn’t shower because we didn’t have any hot water. We couldn’t sleep because there is only one bed! So … we drink … we went out to get some food and we informally met some of the other students. Alcohol was the right medicine, I forgot all about my problems, had a good time and got to know the some of the other students. When we finally got back in we made the best of what we had and dealt with the situation as best we could. Not much we could do anyways other then complain even more, but that would only piss off everyone. I have to get going, my roommate and I were lucky … we have power, but I forgot to get a power adapter and my roommate packed his in the lost luggage … so good night …
