Alright, now that I have the domain squared away, I think I can finally start marketing this and get things moving.

First off, I need to get my passport. According to http://travel.state.gov first timers like myself need the following:

  • To do it in person
  • The DS-11 Form
  • Birth Certificate
  • Drivers license or = Government ID
  • Two 2″x2″ Head-shot photo

Now, in essence this sounds pretty easy, go down to the office, show them your stuff, fill out the form and bam … month or so later you have a passport with a RFID chip in it that makes it easier for crackers to steal your identity. My only problem is my Birth Certificate is in Virginia … some where in my closest with the title to my Ninja ZX-7R. It takes my sister a few days to do anything, so I got a week or so to wait on that.

We also have to have a doctor sign a paper that basically says we are physically and mentally fit to do the program. I know it’s needed for legal issues, but I feel kinda bad about making an appoint with a doctor I’ve never met before( remember I’m from Virginia ), wasting his time to sign a paper that says I’m not crazy or 400lbs. I think I’ll check into a Dermatologist to see if there is anything they can do for my acne that I was supposed to grow out of 3 years ago and have him sign while I’m there.

As for the packing list, the IPod idea has been getting better and better. I figure I can loan out the projector to Mike and Brian ( I trust them with it ) give one of the laptops to my dear ol’ Mom, and the other to my sister so she can look at her porn on it instead of her work computer. The desktop replacement will prolly be loaned to Dave ( not DPT ) because I need him to cover me on my airsoft guns. And what am I left with? Well the new thinkpads ( T60 ) are looking really sweet. I think a nice spec’d out one with a few gigs of ram should be enough power to run a VM or 2 at the same time if I needed it and the dumbed down video card will discourage playing games.

I also got my hands on the French Rosetta Stone, it’s pretty neat, I wish it came with a tutorial instead of straight exercises, but other then that I highly recommend it.

On a side note, this blog thing I think may serve as a long term journal / diary option. Although the security risk of having this semi confidential information out there is high, I doubt a risk assessment on me right now would prove that I have any real assets.

With that said my love life sucks right now. After moving here, I’ve had two crazy girlfriends, a few one nighters over break etc. and two interests that well … blew up in my face. Anyways this cute girl in my Design class asked for my number and later called me asking for help with the homework … I’m hoping it will lead to coffee after class :-)

p.s. im such a dork.
