Well, a lot happened today. Nicolas Sarkozy is the next president of France. I’m not sure exactly what this means for the expatriate / study abroad community but if I find anything I’ll be sure to post it. From what I have gathered he is right wing conservative and pro US. Although I’m not sure what right wing conservative is in France but I’m sure I’ll find out soon enough.

Today we met with some of the faculty from France and Sweden at a semi formal reception. It was really fun. I got the opportunity to ask a lot of questions, got some reassurance on how things worked over there and built a few really good relationships. I think that it was a really good idea to have the students there because I know I’m a lot more comfortable about going over. I feel like I’m not totally in the dark, that I have a better idea of what to expect. I’m now even more excited to go. Only 115 days left!

Today was also a good opportunity to talk with the other guys going. We are toying with the idea of making this blog a community blog. It will be a little weird because it will be hard to track the posts by users. /*Tech Rant*/ I’m sure that I could setup a sql query to filter by author, but how would that work logistically with private posts? I think it might be easier to setup individual blogs and use a blog roll to link everyone in. /*End Rant*/

Alright, well I have a long day of homework to do tomorrow.
