Well today was a long day of classes, we actually had 3 in a row. The schedule here is really “tough”! 10am-11:45am in class, then lunch till 1:30pm then in class until 3:30 or so. I opted to stay for the advanced French class so I stayed until 6:15pm and that is a really long day to the French. So anyways after my “exhausting” day I had dinner with the some of the Swedish people in our group. I have to admit it was a good time. They very friendly and down to earth. They are all fairly laid back but are by no means lazy. They are efficient, simple and always seem to be having a good time or in a good mood. They are very communal and social and which is completely opposite from what I expected. I expected the cold, evil hockey team from the Mighty Ducks. I don’t know, they just seem like good people, trustworthy and deserving of my friendship. Don’t get me wrong, the French in the group have been immensely hospital and extremely friendly, and I do consider myself close with most of them, but I just haven’t figured them out yet.

All in all with the French and Swedes in mind, I don’t think there is a better group that I would want to be dropped on foreign soil with.

p.s The Swedes do eat other things then herring!

Oh and I forgot, I’ve been drinking a lot of wine, and I must say I love Bordeaux. Out of the 3 or 4 I’ve had so far, the terroir has been able to accentuate a full bodied experience with a plethora of flavor, a little spicy here and there, slightly dry and a wonderful smooth finish. I’m still getting the hang of this wine thing, but again I have to admit I really enjoy drinking these wines. I’ve also had some nice Chianti from Italy that has been growing on me.
