Last night we had poker night, Nick won this time. Seems like the game is still in the hands of the Americans!

On to more important things, and I don’t mean to sound like a broken record but I still don’t have hot water. I think it will make some more progress soon. It seems to be getting more attention. We had a meeting with the school’s administration today. I think it went fairly well. We had an opportunity to voice our opinions in a democratic manner. The Dean was able to calm and relax us a bit. I heard him preaching about the spirit of the program, teamwork, unity, progress and trust. I agree that I don’t think anyone is trying to screw us or anything like that. However, I do think that through a lack of communication and other cultural misunderstandings that we have been mislead a bit. The proof is in the documents that we got beforehand and that I budgeted myself on. Now that I’m going to be paying a lot more per month, I’m going to have to figure out how I can make this work. I know the others are in the same boat so it will be interesting to see how this plays out. We have a few options, but I don’t think they are willing to take out more loans. There are still some small issues with the housing other then cost. The biggest is the internet, some people are having trouble with it. /***/Tech Rant/***/ There isn’t a DHCP server or enough addresses in the range because some people still can’t pick up an address. However when you statically assign one it works fine. There are some other weird things but I need to do more research on it before I start posting on it. I’m also going to revert back to XP Pro, Vista is starting to get on my nerves with all it’s issues with my favorite tools. Oh and at school, they have a weird ISA setup. They force everyone to use Terminal Services to view web pages. So you have to log on via Remote Desktop Connection to a Terminal Server running Windows 2k3 and some heavy group policies./***/End Rant/***/ Other then the cost, my hot water, my vanity light/mirror and the dust, the setup isn’t that bad. I’m sure when we sit down with the other students there will be a handful of questions to go over.

There is also a bunch of questions that we need to get straightened out for DePaul. For one my CTI access has been cut off so I can’t get to my MSDNAA and the online library.

There are many more concerns with the program at this point, but it’s late and I got to get some sleep for French tomorrow. We have another trip coming up, maybe this trip will help continue to build trust. Either way, some hot water for a shower and dishes would be a good start.
